I think there is a balance between what you can do and can’t do. The US election left me feeling like I was alone… but subsequently realized that it’s anything but.

Governments and elections are part of a long process which changes over time. A period of intense progress is met with backlash that takes you a step back.

People who are passive may be swayed, but it’s the people who are active and engage that shape the conversation and the lift humanity up.

While on the surface this current trend is tragic, below the surface people are becoming more active: politically more vocal, but more importantly involved in our communities where we can make a difference and shape the direction we can go.

My thoughts: find a way you can get involved and make that contribution. The more we do this, the less relevant the direction of the government is, and the more empowered citizens are.
