Everything goes in cycles. Two steps forward, one step back. My parents were reminding me of similar politics in the 70s.

On the upside:

  1. It’s exposed the intolerance — and while it’s ugly, it’s much easier to address and change than when it’s hidden. (Although, we certainly don’t need to feed it in the process.)
  2. People are speaking out. Organizing. Getting involved. Standing up. People who were taking progress for granted. I mean the Women’s March… so many friends of mine who never have been politically active… going to DC, even from the opposite side of the country.

Change never stops.
